Organisers have thanked everyone who helped make a village show in Lowton a huge success.
The Lowton St Mary’s Village Show took place on August Bank Holiday weekend, and proved a great event, with lots of local people contributing time and effort either to help run the event, enter their baked goods, home grown vegetables or crafts, or simply come along and enjoy the day!
June Brignall, organiser of the show, said: “A very big thank you to all that took part in Lowton St Mary’s Village show!
“Whether you were helping or showing your wonderful exhibits, for a first show I have to say it was a great success.”

“The day finished off with a pie and pea supper and auction at night ,with donated things from the show and private donations. The auctioneer was June’s daughter Gail Coenen, who helped make the evening such fun, contributing to its success.
In all, more than £1,100 was raised, which will now go into a fund for the repair of Lowton St Mary’s stained glass window, above the altar.
