Bridgewater Day Care Centre in Golborne offers a fun, supportive, community service to support older people and those with a form of dementia in a home-away-from-home environment.

The aim of the day centre is to provide a ‘home away from home’ for clients where they can socialise, interact with others in the local community and receive the support and stimulation that they cannot currently receive every day from home.

The centre also aims to give back some time to those family members that have daily caring responsibilities and provide a form of respite from the ongoing challenges of everyday life.

What activities and services are on offer at Bridgewater Day Care Centre?

The friendly and compassionate team at Bridgewater Day Care Centre host a variety of different activities every day, so you can expect to have a fun-filled time when visiting the centre.

It is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and provides a variety of activities such as:

• games and quizzes
• reminiscence therapy
• cognitive stimulation
• nutritious two course meals
• arts & crafts
• physical activities
• armchair aerobics
• refreshments throughout the day
• engagement in technology

All of the centre’s services aim to improve mental health, wellbeing and quality of life and provide clients with a fun-filled day out and a break from their day-to-day routines at home.

The centre remains open, with COVID safety measures in place

Bridgewater Day Care Centre has been fully operational since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, and has implemented full COVID-19 guidelines with social distancing measures in place so clients and their families can rest assured they are in safe hands.

The services the centre provides really do make such an important difference to people’s lives and for many it has become something they would find difficult to live without. Some clients visit the centre one day a week, whereas others attend the centre every day, with services being flexible around the needs of clients and their family members.
