Congratulations to Golborne based Bridgewater Day Care, who have three employees through to the finals of the Great British Care Awards 2023!
The three careworkers will be known to the clients and families who use the Day Centre, near to Golborne Library. It aims to provide a home-away-from-home environment for clients to relax, socialise and receive much needed personal care and support where required.
Carers are the centre provide one-to-one person-centred care to elderly clients and those living with a form of dementia, to help them live well and enjoy a safe, comfortable space, daily.
The three nominated staff members through to the Great British Care Awards final are:
- Rebecca Heywood – The Care Newcomer Award
- Joanne Hemsley – The Dementia Care Award
- Diane Springall – The Dignity in Care Award

About the Great British Care Awards
The Great British Care Awards are an annual awards celebration, and a chance to pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work and celebrate excellence across the care sector as a whole.
There are 21 awards categories in total, which represent different areas of the care sector and specialist services within care, including residential care, home care and day care.
The finals for the awards will be held on 11 November 2023 at the Kimpton Hotel in Manchester. All Bridgewater Day Care’s finalists will undergo a final interview with the judges before the winners are decided upon.

The centre’s mission is to ensure its clients have access to a daily, caring service in a homely environment, where they can receive personal care, emotional support, a bathing service, hydration support and medication assistance where required. They strive to help clients to continue living with dignity and independence, where they might otherwise risk social isolation or neglect their own self-care.
