Virtual switch-on for Golborne’s Christmas lights

by Editor

Golborne’s Peter Kane Square is looking festive after the town’s Christmas lights were switched on for 2020.

Sadly, this year there could be no big community event to mark the switch-on, so instead the lights were turned on in a low key and socially distanced event with just a small number of attendees. But the lights will still be there to be enjoyed by everyone in the weeks ahead.

Switching on the lights this year fell to local councillors Susan Gambles, Yvonne Klieve and Gena Merrett, who shared pictures and videos of the moment on their Facebook page. They invited representatives from the police and a local PCSO to join the occasion, too.
