Hospice Shop inspired cake was perfect for top customer, Elaine

by Editor Lowton and Golborne News

This unsusual cake – based on the Hospice Shop in Golborne -was the perfect choice for for one of its best customers as she celebrated a milestone birthday!

Elaine, fron Golborne, had the cake made for her by Lowton cake maker The Cake Bank, who’ve confirmed it was the first time they’ve ever been asked to make one in the shape of this Wigan and Leigh Charity Shop before!

But it was the perfect cake for Elaine, who the volunteers at the shop know well. Elaine loves to visit the shop several times a week (when we’re not in lockdown, of course), searching for bargains and chatting with the volunteers there.

The Hospice team said: “One of our lovely customers, Elaine, usually visits our Golborne shop several times a week. She loves our shop so much that her 50th birthday cake, from The Cake Bank, was actually a model of our shops. We think it is fabulous!

“She is missing her shop visits very much during lockdown and can’t wait to get back.”

Denise, the creative baker behind The Cake Bank, said: “I’ve had many weird and wonderful requests over the last 12 years, as my customers like to test my design skills! But this is certainly my first hospice shop.”

Well, we think it looks wonderful.

Happy birthday Elaine!
