Golborne pub installs heated chalets for households to dine outdoors

by gemmamelling

How good do these new heated chalets at the Queen Anne in Golborne look?

The chalets have been recently installed in the pub’s garden, giving customers the option to eat outdoors in their household groups or bubbles whatever the weather.

Chris Darnbrough, landlord at the Queen Anne, said the idea for the chalets originally came about whilst Golborne was still under Tier 2 restrictions, meaning people could still mix with others as long as they were outside. Now the rules have been tightened, only household groups or bubbles will be able to use the chalets – but they still offer a lovely way to enjoy a change of scene and a nice meal out.

Chris said: “People have reacted amazingly to them so far and we’ve had a ‘shed’ load of enquiries about them. I’m hoping they encourage people to come out for their ‘substantial meals’ with us and support the pub.”

Tier 3 restrictions are really tough for pubs like the Queen Anne – they can still welcome customers, but they must be eating ‘substantive meals’ and not just calling in for a drink only.  It makes for a really tough time for our locals – who have already suffered a long shutdown, then the introduction of strict Covid-safe and track and trace measures.

So if you value your local – and fancy treating your household to a much-needed change of scene and some quality home cooked pub food – why not book one of the heated chalets? Contact the Queen Anne for more information.
