Home Eating out Farewell, Toby Carvery!
Toby Carvery in Lowton, July 2017, just before it closes to become a Miller & Carter restaurant

Farewell, Toby Carvery!

by Editor

Lowton’s Toby Carvery called last orders for the final time on Saturday, 5 August.

The popular pub and restaurant is making way for a new Miller and Carter restaurant, which will open following major refurbishment on September 15.

Miller and Carter are an upmarket steakhouse – so no more Sunday roasts – but much more ribeye and sirloin steak on the grill!

So, what do you think?

Are you sad to see Toby Carvery go?

Do you have fond memories of eating at Toby Carvery? Or are you excited to see something new on offer in Lowton?

Let us know in the comments below.

Did you miss?

Should be left alone, very good food and good service, we go a lot here. But if it’s changed we’ll give it a miss.

The only local carvery worth going to. Be sad to see it go and be replaced with a 1.4million pound refurbished restaurant. Talking to the staff it won’t be the type of place you call in for tea and the contractors in the travelodge will have a dress code to adhere to.

Like Millar Carter but think it’s a bad move, Very popular Carvery. We will miss it as we tend to go quite often.

Great news! I’m really excited for this as the Miller and Carter in Warrington has been a massive hit.. the Toby Carvery has lost its touch over the years and the food standards are low, especially the greasy carpet by the door of the kitchen which every waiter and waitress slips over on coming out with orders! Gross!

Fantastic news, great for the community providing more jobs and a better quality of food. Also a business people from the area can be proud of as oppose to a shabby, outdated look it currently has

Millar & Carter are expensive for what they are, they took over the one on Parbold hill, nice steaks but very expensive, you could get just as nice elsewhere cheaper tho’

I disagree with some of the comments, Toby at Lowton has always been the best, I’ve been to other Toby’s and not got anything like the service you get from Toby Lowton, best service best food and great staff. Really sad it’s gone, I am not a steak person it’s nothing to write home about but I don’t think I will be visiting this steak house at Lowton, not with high fancy prices. Toby at Lowton couldn’t have got it wrong as it was always full,

Been to a Miller and Carter once, been to a Toby Carvery many times it speaks for it self. Miller and Carter are too expensive for families and the general public and you need too take out a loan to pay for the drinks

Sad, we had a family meals here many times over the years, excellent value for money.
