Lowton’s Courtyard Bistro announces sudden closure

by Editor

The popular Courtyard Bistro in Lowton has announced it is closing with immediate effect.

The bistro, situated just off the crossroads in Lowton, broke the news on its Facebook page on Tuesday, 12 September. It described the decision as “difficult” and thanked the “Courtyard Bistro family” for all their support over the years.

No specific reasons were given for the closure, but in recent weeks the owners of the business had been trying to sell the restaurant as a going concern. And it seems efforts were being made to increase their custom, including the decision to bring back their popular ‘bring your own booze’ policy, which was re-introduced a few weeks ago.

The message on Facebook read: “It is with heavy hearts that we share this news with you today. After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to close The Courtyard Bistro with immediate effect.

“We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has supported us throughout this incredible journey. Your loyalty, smiles, and cherished moments spent in our little bistro have meant the world to us. From our talented chefs to our dedicated staff, we have been privileged to serve such an amazing community.

“The Courtyard Bistro has been more than just a restaurant; it’s been a place where memories were made, friendships were forged, and love was shared over delectable dishes. While our doors may be closing, the memories and connections made within these walls will forever remain in our hearts.

“Thank you for being a part of our Courtyard Bistro family. We will miss you all dearly, but we hope our paths may cross again in the future. Until then, please take care of yourselves and continue to support the local businesses that make our community vibrant and strong.”

The restaurant also apologised to anyone who had bookings in the near future, which they would no longer be able to honour, and promised that any one with unspent vouchers purchased after 12 October 2022 would receive a refund in due course.
