Get your Christmas shopping early, sustainably and without breaking the bank either, at Golborne’s hospice shop this week.
The charity shop, on the corner of Tanners Lane and Bridge Street, is having a Christmas Bonanza sale all this week – and hopes to raise as much money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice in the process.
The shop, which is staffed entirely by volunteers and depends on your donations for its fundraising work, has loads of nearly new bargains that are sure to put a smile on lots of faces this Christmas.
They have toys, gifts, clothes and decorations on sale at bargain prices – not to mention the all important Christmas jumpers!
The festive stock has been carefully stored up all year, so there’s plenty to choose from.
And as word has spread about the Christmas bonanza, the shoppers have started to flood into the shop – there was even a queue around the block on Monday! All of which led to the charity making more than £1,600 on the first day of their Christmas event alone. Brilliant stuff.
Sheila Williams, Shop-Coordinator, said: “It’s usually busy all week but we keep putting fresh items out as the week goes on so get down here – there are plenty of bargains!
“Volunteers have been in on Saturday and Sunday on their days off getting the shop ready and they’ve worked so hard.”
Get along and grab a bargain!
Golborne’s hospice shop is open 9am – 4pm from Monday to Friday (9am – 1pm on Wednesdays). If you have donations to drop off, please bring them along on a Friday. The shop is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
