Congratulations to local operatic society, The Three Towns, who picked up a clutch of awards at a recent awards ceremony.

The Three Towns scooped three awards for their production of The Gondoliers in May last year performed at St. Joseph’s Hall in Leigh. They won in the ‘Best Gilbert & Sullivan Production’ and ‘Best Programme’ categories, whilst David Kay and Barbara Mayers picked up ‘Best Comedy Duo Performance’ for their roles as the Duke and Duchess of Plazo-Toro.

The North West Regional Awards Evening was held by NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) at the Last Drop Village Hotel, Bolton on 10 February.

The trophies were presented by Liz Hume-Dawson, the Regional Representative of NODA. And now the winners will be nominated forward to the NODA North West Awards night at the Winter Gardens at Blackpool.

The Three Towns, and their Principals received seven nominations in total for their performance of The Gondoliers. What an amazing achievement, congratulations all!
