Now open: Golborne’s new Lidl

by Editor

A new, bigger Lidl store for Golborne has now opened to shoppers.

The new food store, which is just a little further down Bridge Street from the old store, includes an instore bakery, customer toilets and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.

This new store is 1,286m² and will sell a much larger range of Lidl products than Golborne’s old store could.

When did Golborne’s new Lidl open?

The current Lidl store closed its doors to customers on Sunday 3 November at 4pm. It was closed for three days before the new store opened on Thursday, 7 November.

So, what do you think? And what would you like to see happen with the old Lidl site?

Tell us in the comments below!

Did you miss?

Love the new better Lidl, more choice in most things. Also some Gluten free choice for me!
Would very much like to see another store in old Lidl..B & M, Poundland or Iceland etc,. We are in dire need of some retail premises in Golborne, unless you want your nails done or some food there is little choice for shoppers here. Time Wigan Council put some funds our way to update our town centre.

I like the new store but I miss the old one very much as I’m getting on a bit and my knees don’t like the longer walk its ok for those with cars.
I heard that Iceland may take over the old store. Is that right

The new lidl is brilliant much bigger and more variety maybe the old one could become a home and bargain that would be great
