When Heather Toft collected the keys to her brand-new home in Golborne last month, little did she know that her already special day was about to become even more memorable.
Because as soon as they walked into their new home, Heather’s boyfriend Ian Salt got down on one knee in their new lounge and popped the question. A stunned Heather said “yes”.
Heather said: “I was completely taken by surprise. I was so shocked; I fell into the wall. It was a wonderful surprise though and made the day even more special.”
The couple, who have been together for three years, were moving into their first home together at the Bloor Homes Lowton Heath development, having previously lived separately.
Ian said: “I had been planning to propose to Heather for five months, having purchased her engagement ring back in February. The thought of proposing the day we got the keys to our new Bloor Home just seemed like the perfect start to our future together.”
Heather, 34, who is a nurse in St Helens, previously lived in Ashton-in-Makerfield, while Mental Capacity Advocate Ian, 46, lived in Sale. The couple were keen to move in together along with Ian’s daughter, Carla, 14, and Heather’s children, Sophie, 10 and Alex, 8 and their pet budgie, Blue.
The couple found their dream four-bedroom home at Lowton Heath.
Heather said: “We chose a home at Lowton Heath because of the location of the development. We’re very close to the countryside, while Manchester and Merseyside lie within easy commute.”
Heather and Ian bought a four-bedroom Elmhurst House type. Heather said: “We’re looking forward to many happy years together in our new family home.”
