They’ve been unable to get together in person to rehearse – and this year they’ve been unable to perform Christmas carols at local events – but that hasn’t stopped the ladies of Milltown Sound spreading some festive cheer.
The group have recorded their own song for Christmas 2020 – complete with a moving video showing the members of the singing group preparing for Christmas with their families.
The lovely song, which is a cover of the Pentatonix tune That’s Christmas to Me, has been shared online to raise a few smiles – and to encourage people to give a donation in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
You can watch it in full here:
Please give a donation if you can
If you enjoyed watching That’s Christmas to Me, please think about giving a donation to Wigan and Leigh Hospice via the Milltown Sound Fundraising page.
Posting on their Facebook page, the group, who are affectionately known as The Millies, said: “Because of Covid, The Millies are extremely sad that we cannot do our usual Christmas sing-outs. It is our favourite time of year and we usually get to spend lots of time together.
“So instead, we have created a little video for you to show what Christmas means to us all and we think you’ll be able to relate to some of our choices.”
2021 should be a better year for Milltown Sound
The group are off to America in October to compete in the International Sweet Adelines convention in the USA – something which is a dream come true for the members.
The competition had been scheduled for this year, but has been postponed due to the pandemic.
