Current roadworks in & around Lowton and Golborne:

Croft to Culcheth

12 weeks of work along Mustard Lane got underway on Monday, 29 January. There will be three phases of work affecting the main route between Croft and Culcheth whilst Electricity North West install a new electrical cable. It will affect the stretch of Mustard Lane between Lady Lane and along Wigshaw Lane. Signed diversions will be in place as the work progresses. It should be finished by 22 April 2024.

Church Lane, Lowton

Church Lane, Lowton will be closed outside House Number 38 on Saturday 24 February 2024 between 9am – 3pm for emergency repair work.

Wigan Road, Golborne

Temporary lights are in place (since 30 Jan) until 2 Feb, due to works by BT.

Works related to Parkside development in Newton-le-Willows

Construction works related to the creation of the new Parkside Link Road will affect your journeys as follows:

4th Jan 2024 5th Jan 2024 A579 Winwick Lane Temporary Traffic Signals
13th Jan 2024 14th Jan 2024 A579 Winwick Lane Road Closure – old section of Winwick Road to be closed 05:00 Saturday and Opened 19:00 Sunday.
20th Jan 2024 21st Jan 2024 A579 Winwick Lane Road Closure – old section of Winwick Road to be closed 05:00 Saturday and Opened 19:00 Sunday.
26th Jan 2024 29th Jan 2024 A579 Winwick Lane Road Closure – installed Friday 26th (evening) and remove latest Monday 29th (am).
27th Jan 2024 28th Jan 2024 M6 Junction 22 M6 roundabout junction 22 closed (north side) including M6 junction 22 S/B off slip and on slip – Closure for each night only – 21:30-05:30
