A programme of deep cleaning, tree planting and litter picking left Golborne looking its best for the summer.
Wigan Council’s Our Town project saw council officers blitz the centre of Golborne, installing new bins, fixing lighting and adding new floral displays.
It was one of 12 districts in the borough to benefit from a pot of £1 million allocated for improvements and cleanups.
The aim of the work was to inject some comunity pride in where we live, whilst also making those areas greener, safer and more attractive to visit. The council also hoped to give a boost to businesses as they look to recover from the impact of the lockdowns.
