Community group give away 20,000 masks in Lowton & Golborne

A big thank you to Golborne and Lowton West Voice, whose volunteers have been giving away protective masks to anyone who needs them.

Volunteers including Alan Percival and Moira Jones (pictured above) gave up their time the last two Saturdays to set up stall around Lowton and Golborne, so that people could come and collect the masks they need to keep them, and others, safe.

The masks were kindly donated to the group by a company called Full Support, so that they could benefit people in Lowton and Golborne.

In all, the group have given away more than 20,000 face masks, as part of their efforts to support local people through the COVID pandemic.

Alan Percival, Chair of Golborne and Lowton West Voice, said: “The take up was wonderful. Everyone seemed really grateful to be offered the masks and it felt really good to keep working to make our town ‘the best that it can be’.

“I owe a massive thanks to the Voice volunteers for their help distributing them to residents and shopkeepers but mainly to the company “Full Support” for their very kind donation of the facemasks free of charge.”

Well done all!
