Community cleanup is a success

by Editor Lowton and Golborne News

Everyone mucked in to help fill skips of rubbish and leave two streets in Golborne looking neat and tidy during a community clean-up event last week.

The blitz of Knowsley Avenue and Naylor Avenue in Golborne was been organised by local councillors Susan Gambles, Gena Merrett and Yvonne Klieve.

Two skips were provided for any rubbish that residents wanted to dispose of, and unwanted scrap metal was taken away by the scrap metal merchant.

Volunteers joined in the work as part of a community litter pick that left the two streets looking spick and span!

Free of litter, the area was looking lovely after the clean-up!

A statement on the councillor’s Facebook page said: “Fantastic response from residents for our clean up day on Knowsley and Naylor Avenues this morning. Thanks to the council environmental officers who helped us and residents to move rubbish. We also met residents, reported problems and litter- picked the whole area.”

Looks like a great job, well done all!
