A new Master’s Rugby League Team for women over 30 has been set up in Golborne – and is now looking for players.
Golborne Parkside Women’s Masters has been established by Rachael Croft, an experienced player and coach.
Masters Rugby is a social version of the sport for older female players. The aim is to play for enjoyment, fitness benefits and social aspects with the sport based on Rugby League with some modifications to suit the older age group.
Rachael says the Golborne Parkside team will have a focus on wellbeing and health, and offers the chance for women to play the sport at a level that suits them.
They train on Monday nights from 8-9pm at Golborne High. Any women over 30 are welcome to join in – even if it’s been many years since you last played the sport, and regardless of ability. Come along and see what you think – if you just want to watch for the first session, that’s ok.
