Where to ‘pick your own’ this summer

Strawberry picking season is now well underway – and it’s a lovely family activity, as well as a delicious one!

Our local pick your own destination is Kenyon Hall Farm – and the fields are now bursting with juicy fruits.

Once again, to comply with social distancing rules, you must book in advance for fruit picking at the farm, which is off Winwick Link Road inbetween Lowton & Newton-Le-Willows.

Check their website for the next available slots – and make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment!

Shopping at Kenyon Hall Fam is also a great way to support local businesses. As well as the farm itself, you’ll be able to support other local producers whose products are on sale at the shop, including some from right here in Lowton and Golborne, such as What the Fudge and Carringtons Coffee who actually roast their coffee at the farm. You can even buy handcrafted goods including cards and notebooks by Newton-le-Willows creative Finbo Illustrations.

And it’s not just strawberries you can pick!

This July, you can also visit Kenyon Hall Farm to pick your own raspberries, tayberries and blackcurrants. There will also be broad beans and several varieties of peas that you can enjoy harvesting yourself.
