Plans submitted for more homes on Bloor site in Lowton

by Editor

Bloor homes, who are currently working on phase one of their new housing development off Heath Lane, Lowton, have officially lodged an application to build an additional 68 homes next to the site.

The application relates to land at Thompson’s Farm, alongside the East Lancashire Road.

Wigan Council have now published details of the application on their website, and say that their target date to make a decision on the application is October 25.

In the meantime, local residents should have received information and a period of neighbourhood consultation is now open until 7 September. You can view the details of the application now.

The current Bloor development, of 129 homes, was approved in October 2016 and work is well underway on the site, which borders another large housing development by Wainhomes, off Stone Cross Lane North.

Bloor’s planning statement says that 30 of the 129 homes have already been completed, and that a quarter of the houses i the second phase will be affordable and include a range of shared equity and rented options to accommodate a range of circumstances.

A dedicated website has been set up by Bloor Homes containing more information about the planned 2nd phase development.
