A webinar which will look at the section of HS2 which is due to travel through Lowton will take place on Tuesday, March 15.
The online event is a chance to hear directly from HS2, and ask questions about how their proposals might impact on your life.
What will the webinar cover?
HS2 have explained that there will be a brief presentation and the presenter will highlight some of the main features of the proposed new railway for the Golborne Link. But the majority of time will be set aside for questions – giving you the chance to ask the team about the proposals.
If you’d like to attend, you’ll need to pre-register at www.hs2.org.uk/events.
The webinar is from 6-7pm on 15 March. More information about what will be covered is on the HS2 website.
Where can I get more information about HS2?
You can take a look at relevant documents on the HS2 website. You can also contact the HS2 Helpdesk at HS2enquiries@hs2.org.uk or on 08081 434 434.
Does this mean that HS2 is definitely going ahead in Lowton and Golborne?
This still seems unclear. In November, it looked like the Golborne Spur may not go ahead, following the Government’s decision to scrap a major part of the scheme from the East Midlands to Leeds.
And our local MP, James Grundy, has been vocal in his opposition to the railway cutting through Lowton and Golborne.
But for now, the plans remain on the table until anything is confirmed. So if you do have concerns or questions, the webinar may be useful.
