Pompoms at the ready… if you or your child fancies having a go at cheerleading, now is the time, because a local troupe have spaces for new members of all ages, starting September.

Gemstone Cheer & Dance are a fun and friendly group, who meet weekly to practise and regularly enter competitions and perform at local events.

here are currently four age groups within Gemstone Cheerleading – Gemstone Rubies for up to nine years; Gemstone Sapphires for ages 10-12; Gemstone Diamonds for the 13-16 age groups; Gemstone Jets for 16-25 year-olds and Gemstone Pearls for anyone age 25 and up. So, whatever your age, it’s not too late to fulfil the dream of becoming a cheerleader with Gemstone Cheer & Dance!

The group used to meet in Lowton but now have their very own studio at Leigh Spinners Mill, Park Lane, WN7 2LB, where all training now takes place. They also now offer classes in Stunt,Tumble, Lyrical and competitive Pom Dance too.

It’s been another successful year for Gemstone

Last season the troupe too part in five competitions across the North of England, bringing home nine First Place, seven Second Place and four Third Place trophies – their most successful season since they set up in 2017.

Not only that, but Gemstone’s Junior team, who include eight girls from Lowton and Golborne, have also won a bid invitation to compete at Battle of the Champions. This is a major national competition in June 2020 and to qualify is a fantastic achievement – well done girls!

The summer holidays are the perfect chance to give cheerleading with Gemstone a try. The troupe are running summer classes for just £5 each on the following dates:

Monday 12 & Thursday 15 August, 6-7.30pm.

Monday 19 & Thursday 22 August, 6-7.30pm.

If it’s your first ever time at Gemstone Cheer & Dance, you’ll get your first class free!
