Foodbank opens in Golborne

A new foodbank will open at All Saints RC Church in Golborne, helping to feed families in need in both Golborne and Lowton.

The All Saints Foodbank has been set up as a result of changes to the way the current ACT foodbank delivers its services, which may make it more difficult for people in our towns to access their help.

The ACT Foodbank – based at St Thomas’s Church in Ashton – has been our local foodbank for some time now. But it now plans to open an affordable Food Pantry , which will allow people to join as members in order to access low cost foods. Membership will cost just £5 to sign up, and £3 for every visit to pick up food.

However the new Food Pantry will not be offering delivery, and so may not help the most vulnerable people living in Golborne or Lowton.

So the All Saints Foodbank will continue to support those people. It will be open every Friday morning from 10am – 12pm, starting on Friday, June 18, and deliveries can be made in an emergency.

How to make a donation to the Golborne Foodbank

Donations can also be dropped off at All Saints Church in Golborne between 10am – 2pm from Monday to Friday. Leave any food outside the presbytery door, ring the bell and it will be collected.
