Local elections took place yesterday, to decide on a number of local and regional positions, including local councillors for Lowton and Golborne.
Counting in the local elections has been taking place today – and we now have the results!
Result in Golborne and Lowton West
Congratulations to Yvonne Klieve of the Labour Party, who has been re-elected to the ward.
The full results were as follows:
- Stan Crook – Conservative: 925
- Yvonne Klieve – Labour: 1,619
- Susan Spibey – Independent: 276
- Brian Witt – Liberal Democrat: 62
The turnout in Golborne and Lowton West was 31.9%.
Result in Lowton East
Congratulations to Marie Cooper, who has held the seat for the Conservatives – taking the seat which once belonged to now MP James Grundy.
The results in full were:
- Marie Cooper – Conservative: 2,395
- Garry Lloyd – Labour: 1,516
- Chistopher Noon – Liberal Democrat: 123
The turnout in Lowton East was 38.6%.
