Chairperson wanted for residents group

by Editor

A residents group which campaigns on behalf of local people on issues including housing, traffic and crime is seeking a new Chair.

Lowton East Neighbourhood Development Forum (LENDF) is seeking an “active and committed” local person to step into the role and steer the group forward.

At the beginning of this year, we reported that the future of the group was in doubt after a number of key roles were left unfilled, and following the death of their much respected Chairman, Ed Thwaite.

However, the appeal for volunteers was successful and the group was saved. But now the group finds itself once again without a Chair.

Liz Brown, Secretary of LENDF, said: “Our chairperson in waiting has had to pull out because of other commitments, leaving the position vacant.

“We would really appreciate some active and committed Lowton sparrows to step forward and consider this rewarding role.

“You would gain a deeper understanding of Lowton people and their hopes and concerns for our locality, and an insight into other local community and interest groups.

What does LENDF do?

LENDF is a non-political and friendly community group for residents (and businesses) of the Lowton East electoral ward. The groups’ ethos is that by coming together and discussing local issues we can improve our area.

Issues typically discussed at their meetings include local housing issues, traffic congestion and police issues.

Could you get involved with LENDF and help make a positive impact on our community?
